Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers, the Warriors are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Raptors. The over/under total for the game is listed at 211.5 points. The public betting for the contest has 60 percent going on the Raptors as the road underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Raptors come up short at home
Toronto was unable to close out the series at home in Game 5, suffering a 106-105 loss to the Warriors to make it a 3-2 series. The Raptors are now 73-32 overall, 32-19 on the road, 51-53-1 against the spread and 53-49-3 with the over.
The Raptors had a six-point lead late in the game but saw Golden State hit some key 3-pointers down the stretch to get the Game-5 win. Kawhi Leonard led the way again for Toronto with 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. He had a 10-0 run of his own in the fourth quarter. Kyle Lowry had 18 points and six assists while Marc Gasol added 17 points with eight rebounds.
Warriors win without Durant
Golden State picked up the 106-105 win in Game 5 at Toronto despite losing Kevin Durant to a torn Achilles early in the game. The Warriors are 71-32 on the season, 36-15 at home, 43-57-3 against the spread and 52-50-1 with the under.
The Warriors knocked down 20 3-pointers in Game 5 to get the 1-point win. Stephen Curry led the team with 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Klay Thompson had 26 points with seven 3-pointers. Durant had scored 11 points before getting injured while Draymond Green had 10 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 7-1-1 against the spread in their last 9 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Golden State
The Warriors are just 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 Thursday games.
Prediction:
The Warriors had a gritty comeback late in Game 5 and that could turn the tide of the season, but when you really look at it, the Warriors needed their absolute best in those closing minutes. Toronto has been the better team throughout this series, aside from the 12 minutes of Kevin Durant playing. The Raptors defense creates a lot of turnovers and frustrates Golden State a lot. The Warriors had to hit 20 3-pointers in Game 5 to ultimately win by one. I don’t think the Warriors will just cure all their offensive issues against Toronto tonight. Unless the Toronto supporting cast just completely fails to show up, I think the Raptors get the job done tonight.
NBA Prediction: Toronto Raptors +2.5
