Warriors can’t get on track
Golden State continues to struggle through all of the injuries it is dealing with. The Warriors have lost five of their last six, including a 100-96 loss at Orlando last night. Golden State is now 4-17 on the season, 2-10 on the road, 10-11 against the spread and 11-10 with the over. The Warriors have managed to cover in four of their last five games.
The Warriors have struggled on offense all year due to injuries, averaging just 106.8 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from the arc. Defensively, Golden State is allowing 115.6 points per game while opponents shoot 47.7 percent from the field and 40 percent from the arc. Draymond Green is being rested for this game. Eric Paschall is the active leader right now with 17 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while Alec Burks is adding 15 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Hawks have to stop the bleeding
Atlanta has lost 10 straight coming into tonight, including all three on a recent road trip. The Hawks are coming off a 158-111 drubbing at the hands of Houston to fall to 4-16 on the year and 9-11 against the spread. The Hawks are 2-7 at home this year and 11-9 with the over.
Atlanta has struggled defensively this season, allowing 119.1 points per game while opponents shoot 47.4 percent against them. Offensively, the Hawks are putting up 107.8 points per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and just 31.2 percent from the arc. Trae Young is leading the team with 28.4 points, 8.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game while Jabari Parker is adding 16.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The Warriors have covered the spread in five straight following a loss and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games against a team with a home winning percentage below .400.
Atlanta
The Hawks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six Monday games, but 0-7 ATS in their last seven games against a losing team.
Prediction:
Golden State has won nine straight in this series, but the two have yet to meet this year. The Warriors are obviously a far different team this season. They will also be without their mouthpiece and leader on the court, Draymond Green, tonight. Atlanta has been in a real funk, but the Hawks are the better team on paper and get a Golden State team that played last night in Orlando. The Warriors have been competitive lately, but I think their inability to defend the arc combined with playing on back-to-back days is going to be too much on the road against the Hawks.
NBA Prediction: Atlanta Hawks -6.5
