Christmas Day NBA Opening Odds
(The Spread) – Opening Day for the 2011-12 NBA season is officially here. Check out the odds for all of the Christmas Day action on Sunday.
The lockout is over. Training camps are finished. Chris Paul finally got traded.
Now it’s time to play some games that count. The NBA looks to put a trying offseason behind Sunday when the season opens with five marquee games.
The action gets tipped off at 12:00PM ET when the New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics. The Knicks have been installed as a 4.5-point favorite over the Celtics, who will likely be without Paul Pierce due to a nagging heel injury. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 192.5 points.
The games roll on with a 2:30PM ET rematch of the 2010-11 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. Even though the Mavs are the current defending champs, they find themselves as 4-point underdogs on their home court versus LeBron James and the Heat. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 187.5 points.
The Chicago Bulls will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers at 5:00PM ET. The Bulls are 3.5-point road favorites over the Lakers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 185.5 points. At 8:00PM ET, the Oklahoma City Thunder are 8-point favorites over the Orlando Magic.
Finally, the night concludes with a 10:30PM ET matchup between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers, led by Blake Griffin and the newly acquired Chris Paul, are sitting as a 5-point favorite over the Warriors while the over/under total is 208.5.
