LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The NBA Season continues its opening days on Wednesday with a set of 12 games on the schedule. Here is a look at the featured games of the day.
The featured game of the day has the Miami Heat playing host to the Washington Wizards at 7:30PM ET. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Heat are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -4 points against the Wizards. The over/under total has been set at 190 points. Miami was 54-28 overall and 32-9 at home last season while Washington was 44-38 overall and 22-19 on the road. The home team has won eight of the last nine between these two, and the Wizards have covered the spread in three of their last four against Miami.
Another big game today has the New York Knicks hosting the Chicago Bulls at 8PM ET. Oddsmakers see the Bulls as the road favorite, as they are getting odds of -4 points against New York. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 187.5 points. Chicago was 48-34 overall and 21-20 on the road last season. New York was 37-45 overall and 19-22 last year. The home team has won five straight in this series and the Knicks have covered the spread in three of their last four against Chicago. These two have hit the over in five of their last seven meetings.
The last game of note today has the Portland Trail Blazers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at 10:30PM ET. Oddsmakers have Portland favored at home, as they are getting odds of -8 points against the Thunder. The over/under total has been set at 201 points. Oklahoma City was 59-23 last season and 25-16 on the road while Portland was 54-28 overall and 31-10 at home last year. Oklahoma City has won eight of its last 10 against Portland and the Thunder are 7-2-1 against the spread in that stretch. These two have hit the under in seven of their last eight meetings.
