2017 NBA Finals Odds 7/5/16 – Kevin Durant signs with the Warriors

Durant heading to Golden State

The shoe finally dropped in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, as he has elected to sign with the Golden State Warriors for next season.

Durant made the announcement via a post on The Players Tribune on Monday and it is expected his deal with the team is four 2 years and $54.3 million, including a second-year player option. His joining the Warriors gives them an incredible lineup that includes himself, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Warriors were a 2/1 favorite to win it all next season prior to the Durant signing. Golden State is now listed with -150 odds to win, while the Cavaliers are listed with +350 odds. The Thunder went from +800 odds to now sitting at +6000 to win the title next season.

Bet on NBA Futures Odds

Durant spent his first nine seasons with Seattle/OKC. He averages 27.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists for his career. He was the NBA MVP in the 2013-14 season. The addition of Durant certainly makes a big splash, but the loss of him probably has a greater impact. The Thunder seemed to be building for a run at the title with the recent trade of Serge Ibaka, but now has lost one of its big two.
