Doc Rivers said that he expects Joel Embiid (right knee) to be doubtful for Game 1 after missing practice on Saturday. Even though Atlanta extended the series against Boston, it may not have been enough time for Embiid to recover. We’ll see what the official injury report says on Sunday, but it appears that Paul Reed will be on track to start in Game 1, like he did in Game 4 of the first round. Embiid missing the games in Boston won’t totally destroy their chances of winning the series, but it certainly makes it much more difficult.
Boston Celtics DFS Spin
Jayson Tatum lit up Atlanta for 30 points (11-for-20 FGs), 14 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two blocks and four 3-pointers on Thursday. After struggling in the Game 5 loss in Boston, Tatum bounced back with a huge performance to close out the series in Atlanta. That included some clutch plays including a big 3-pointer and a putback dunk over the final few minutes to put them up eight. Those plays helped seal the win in the game and the series, as they’ll now take on the 76ers in the second round of the playoffs. Tatum really struggled in his final three games against the 76ers during the regular season, so they may give him fits again in this series.
