Celtics go up 3-0
Boston once again grinded out a win against the Pacers in Game 3, grabbing the 104-96 road win on Friday. The Celtics have won four straight coming into today while going 3-0-1 against the spread. Boston is now 52-33 overall, 22-20 on the road, 41-42-2 against the spread and 47-38 with the over.
The Celtics were solid from the arc in Game 3, hitting 15 of 34 attempts. It helped make up for a 13 of 22 effort from the line. Kyrie Irving had 19 points with 10 assists and five rebounds in the win while Jaylen Brown added 23 points with seven rebounds and Jayson Tatum put up 18 points and seven rebounds.
Pacers fall flat again
Indiana had another poor offensive showing in Game 3, being held under 100 for the third consecutive game and for the fifth time in their last six. Indiana is now 48-37 on the season, 29-13 at home, 41-43-1 against the spread and 49-36 with the under.
It was another awful third quarter that really hurt Indiana on Friday, as they were held to just 12 points in the third. The Pacers shot just 34 of 81 from the field in the loss while going 11 of 30 from the arc. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 15 points and five rebounds, but was just 6 of 17 shooting. Myles Turner added 13 points with seven rebounds while Tyreke Evans had 19 points off the bench.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics have covered the spread in four straight road games and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five on 1 day of rest.
Indiana
The Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
The Pacers once again had a bad offensive quarter cost them a win and I no longer can put my faith in them. They don’t have the players to create offense consistently and Boston has proven it can make halftime adjustments to take control of these games. Boston has the firepower on offense and the consistency on defense to really cause problems for Indiana. The Pacers just can’t be trusted to not have a long scoreless stretch.
NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -2.5
