Nets continue to cover as road underdogs
The Nets haven’t been winning much but they have been profitable for bettors of late. Brooklyn will visit the Nuggets tonight at 9:00PM ET as a road underdog.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Denver is a 5.5-point home favorite versus Brooklyn while the over/under is currently sitting at 208 points. (Shop and compare lines for all of tonight’s games at our NBA Odds page.)
Despite playing five consecutive games on the road the Nets are 4-1 against the spread in those five contests. They’ve also covered the number in five of their last six games coming off a loss and are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games when playing on two days of rest.
Public bettors love the Nuggets to cover tonight against the Nets
Brook Lopez has been a big reason why Brooklyn has hung with opponents and is coming off a 23-point effort on Tuesday in a loss to the Lakers. He also nabbed seven rebounds, had four asissts and finished with one blocked shot in 33 minutes of play. Over his last five games, Lopez is averaging 23 points, 7.8 boards, 2.6 assists, 1.2 blocked shots and 1.4 steals and should play well tonight against a Denver team that ranks 21st in the league in defensive efficiency.
Speaking of Denver, the Nuggets will likely have more healthy scratches like they had Wednesday when Jameer Nelson sat out with a wrist injury. They’re out of the playoff hunt so they’ll limit the minutes of some of their starters. The Nuggets are also just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall and have failed to cover in four of their last five games after scoring 100 pints or more in their previous contest so tonight is a good opportunity to take the points with the underdog.
