Nets win at Houston
Brooklyn is coming off a 145-142 OT win at Houston on Wednesday for its third win in four games and to get to .500 on the season. The Nets are 23-23 on the season, 11-12 on the road, 25-21 against the spread and 24-22 with the over.
The Nets are in the middle of the road on both sides of the court. Offensively, Brooklyn is averaging 111.4 points per game while the defense is giving up 112.0 points per contest. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team this season with 18.5 points and 6.4 assists per contest. Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 17.0 points and 5.1 assists per contest.
Magic return home
Orlando is coming off a 120-115 OT loss at Detroit, but the Magic have won and covered the spread in four straight home games. Orlando is 19-25 on the season, 10-11 at home, 22-22 against the spread and 26-18 with the under.
The Magic have struggled on offense for most of the year, scoring just 103.6 points per game while shooting only 44.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Magic are giving off 107.5 points per game. Rookie center Mo Bamba is questionable to play tonight with a foot injury. Nikola Vucevic is leading Orlando with 20.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per game while Aaron Gordon is adding 15.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games overall and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a win.
Orlando
The Magic are 9-1-1 against the spread in their last 11 against Atlantic Division opponents, but 3-10 ATS in their last 13 Friday games.
Prediction:
Brooklyn has actually covered the spread in four straight against Orlando. The Nets have definitely been the better team over recent weeks, but winning on the road has still been a challenge. However, the losses have come against the likes of Toronto, Boston and Milwaukee. I think the Nets can handle the Magic, especially coming off a win over James Harden in Houston. Orlando has been below .500 ATS at home and just hard to trust against a .500 or winning team.
NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets -1
