Chicago Bulls DFS Spin
If you need three-point shooting for DFS, consider Chicago shooting guard Zach LaVine. LaVine is averaging 3.0 made three-pointers per game while shooting a decent 36.2% from beyond the arc. He can score at the rim and the midrange as well, as he’s averaging 22.2 points per game for the season. That figure ranks second on the team. LaVine has also been contributing in rebounds (4.7 per game), assists (4.3 per game), and steals (1.3 per game). He should offer some well-rounded DFS production on Sunday.
If you need rebounding, consider Bulls center Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic is tied for seventh in the NBA in rebounds with 11.0 per game on the year. He’s also been scoring efficiently, posting 16.2 points per game while shooting 48.5% from the field and 84.5% from the free throw line. The combination of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic will likely have to perform well for the Bulls to cover this game.
Atlanta Hawks DFS Spin
There are a few injury notes to mention before we get into Atlanta’s DFS candidates. The Hawks’ second-leading scorer Dejounte Murray will miss Sunday’s game and likely several more games with an ankle injury. Atlanta forward John Collins has also been nursing an ankle ailment since the beginning of December, and he’ll be out Sunday as well. Hawks forwards De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu are both questionable for Sunday’s contest with hip and foot injuries respectively. Because of all these injuries, Atlanta will likely be short-handed on Sunday.
A short-handed Hawks squad means more shots for star point guard Trae Young. Young is ninth in the NBA in points per game (27.5) and second in the league in assists per game (9.5). He’s been draining 2.1 three-pointers per game while shooting a subpar 28.9% from deep this year. If you’re not worried about your shooting percentages, Atlanta’s Trae Young might be a nice volume play in DFS this weekend.
Bulls vs. Hawks NBA Betting Trends
Atlanta is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Atlanta is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing straight-up record.
Atlanta is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Sunday games.
The under is 11-5 in Atlanta’s last 16 Sunday games.
Bulls vs. Hawks NBA Prediction
These are two teams heading in vastly different directions. Chicago has won their last 2 games while Atlanta has lost their last 3 games. The Hawks will be missing multiple key contributors for this game even if De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu end up ultimately playing. I think Chicago’s defense is underrated, as many may not know that they’re 8th in the NBA in defensive efficiency. I think the Bulls get Trae Young to shoot (and miss) a lot in this contest, and it’s for that reason that I’ll take Chicago and the points.
