Can the 76ers avoid 0-18?
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Philadelphia 76ers are having a hard time doing anything right on the NBA hardwood this season. Will it continue tonight against the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves?
Philadelphia is off to an 0-17 start on the season, going 0-7 on the road and 8-9 against the spread. Minnesota is 4-12 this year with a 2-4 record at home and 6-9-1 mark against the spread.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Timberwolves are sizable favorites at home, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the 76ers tonight at 8PM ET. The over/under total for the game has been set at 212.5 points.
Despite the winless record, the 76ers come into tonight’s game having covered the spread in four of their last five games. However, all four of those covers were with them as a double-digit underdog. They have failed to cover in their last three games when giving up 9 points or less. Minnesota has lost five of its last six and is just 1-4-1 ATS in those six games. Minnesota has only been favored once in its last 10 games, when it covered a 1-point spread in a 115-99 win over the Knicks.
