Cavaliers enter Christmas Day as favorites to win NBA Eastern Conference

Cavs remain Eastern favorite

LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Cavaliers entered the NBA season as the favorites to win the Eastern Conference and that still stands heading into Christmas day.

View NBA Finals Odds

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cavs currently have 10/11 odds to win the East, making them the clear favorite. The next shortest odds to claim the East this year are the Chicago Bulls at 11/4.

Cleveland got off to a bit of a slow start this season as it worked in a lot of new pieces and a new head coach, but they now find themselves at 17-10 on the season, which is four games behind the Toronto Raptors for the best record in the East. They are also 1.5 games behind the Bulls in the Central Division.

Bet on NBA Futures Odds

Cleveland is also 11-5 at home this year and 6-5 on the road while going 11-16 against the spread. The Cavs currently rank eight in the league in scoring at 103.6 points per game while allowing 99.6 points per contest, which ranks 14th in the league. One area of weakness for the team is rebounding, as it is just 25th in the NBA at 40.9 boards per game. Making matters worse, the team may lose center Anderson Varejao indefinitely after he suffered a foot injury on Tuesday.
