Cleveland Cavaliers DFS Spin
Cleveland star point guard Darius Garland is questionable for Saturday’s clash with Phoenix due to right thumb soreness. Garland is second on the Cavaliers in scoring with 21.4 points per game and leads the team in assists with 7.8 per game. If Garland can’t go, that would be a significant loss for the Cavs on Sunday.
If you need high-efficiency numbers from your big man in DFS, consider Cleveland center Jarrett Allen. The 6’9” Texas alum is averaging a double-double on the season with 13.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Allen is also shooting the ball extremely well, as he’s sinking 61.3% of his shot attempts on the year, a mark that ranks 10th in the league.
Phoenix Suns DFS Spin
The Phoenix Suns are going to be shorthanded for this game. Phoenix’s star Devin Booker is dealing with a groin injury and he’ll be out for this game and another few weeks after that. Booker is averaging a team-high 27.1 points per game for the Suns this season. Suns point guard Cameron Payne will miss Sunday’s game with a foot injury and power forward Cameron Johnson will miss Sunday’s contest with a knee ailment that required surgery.
If all that wasn’t enough, Phoenix point guard Chris Paul left the Suns’ last game with hip soreness, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s clash with Cleveland. Paul is averaging 13.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game for the Suns this year.
Cavaliers vs. Suns NBA Betting Trends
Cleveland is 5-1-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an outright loss of more than 10 points.
Cleveland is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games.
Phoenix is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss.
Phoenix is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Cavaliers vs. Suns NBA Prediction
These appear to be 2 teams heading in opposite directions. Cleveland has won 8 of their last 12 games while Phoenix has lost 8 of their last 9 contests. What makes matters worse for the Suns is the litany of injuries that they’re dealing with. Devin Booker, Cameron Johnson, and Cameron Payne are 3 of the Suns’ top 6 scorers, and not having their combined scoring average of 52.2 points per game makes a big difference. Things will be even bleaker for Phoenix if Chris Paul is unable to play or is hampered by the hip soreness that is threatening to keep him out of this game. I think Phoenix has too many injuries to overcome and that Cleveland is just the better team overall. I’ll lay the points with the Cavaliers on the road.
