Jayson Tatum scored a team-high 38 points in Friday’s tough loss to Brooklyn, also adding 10 boards, four dimes, six triples and five giveaways in 39 minutes. Brad Stevens said Tatum may get a day off soon, and he may need it soon after single-handedly keeping his team competitive in the first half with 25 points in that period. He was extremely quiet in the third quarter with just two points, but picked it back up in the fourth to try to stay alive in this one. He only had two other teammates in double figures tonight in Marcus Smart and Payton Pritchard, so he’s probably antsy to get Kemba Walker (rest) and Jaylen Brown (shoulder) back as soon as possible.

P.J. Washington moved back into the starting lineup in Friday’s 108-102 win over the Cavaliers, going off for 25 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and five triples in 37 minutes. We’re still not sure why Washington played just 13 minutes in his previous game, especially when you consider he averaged 24.5 points, 5.5 triples, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals in the two games prior. It’s nice to see him back with the starters though, and with a much-needed win this evening you’d think coach Borrego sticks with a Washington and Miles Bridges pairing up front.
