Boston enters with a 12-2 overall record and 11-2-1 ATS after a 95-94 home win over the Raptors. The Nets are 5-8 overall and 7-6 ATS following a 114-106 loss at the Jazz. The Celtics won all four meetings last season straight up, but went 1-3 ATS. The under went 3-1.
In the win over Toronto, Al Horford led the way with 21 points along with four assists and two steals. Jaylen Brown had 18 points and two steals. Terry Rozier added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench. Boston outscored the Raptors 51-45 in the second half. Kyrie Irving missed the game with a facial injury, but is expected to return tonight.
D’Angelo Russell scored a team-best 26 points to go with six rebounds and three assists in the loss at Utah but left the game with an injured ankle. He is expected to miss several games. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson contributed 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. Demarre Carroll added 15 points and seven rebounds. Brooklyn trailed 61-45 at halftime.
The Celtics are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Brooklyn.
The Celtics are a much better team as the records indicate and had no problem with the Nets last season, at least straight up. With a masked Irving back in the fold, look for Boston to run its win streak to lucky number 13 in decisive fashion.
