Jayson Tatum played 36 minutes in Wednesday’s 114-111 loss to the Clippers, accumulating 29 points (9-of-20 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one blocked shot, and two 3-pointers. After making just two of his six field goal attempts in the first half, both 3-pointers, Tatum was noticeably better after halftime. No longer settling for perimeter shots, all seven of his made field goals were in the restricted area. And that approach also got him to the foul line, with the All-Star connecting on nine of his 10 attempts. If there was a negative for Tatum it was the turnover count, as he was responsible for a game-high six (tied with Robert Williams). For that reason, Tatum and the managers who have him rostered in 9-cat leagues have to be thrilled that the Celtics are leaving Los Angeles (11 turnovers total in losses to the Lakers and Clippers). Friday’s matchup with the Suns stands to be a difficult one, especially if Jaylen Brown (hamstring) remains sidelined.

Devin Booker (left hamstring strain) is making progress but still has not done any on-court work, according to Monty Williams. Booker has been down since November 30, and he is without a timeline for return. And with Williams saying that his star shooting guard has yet to do any on-court work, fantasy managers will need to remain patient. Landry Shamet, who has started with Booker sidelined, offers some intrigue as a streaming option.
