According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the clear favorite to win, as they are getting 2/5 odds. The other short odds to win the East are the Chicago Bulls (8/1), Miami Heat (14/1) and the Atlanta Hawks (16/1).

The Cavaliers have won the East two times and are the defending champs. Cleveland was 53-29 last season, winning the Central division. Cleveland had injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving in the playoffs, but both are back this season and healthy, along with LeBron James.

The Bulls are six-time Eastern Conference champs, last winning in 1998. Chicago was 50-32 last season, losing in the second round of the playoffs to the Cavs. Chicago made a change at coach, hiring former player Fred Hoiberg. The Bulls return their roster from last year and hope to get a full year of Derrick Rose to make a run.

The Heat are five-time Eastern Conference champs. Miami last won the title in 2014 when it had LeBron James. Miami was 37-45 last season, failing to make the playoffs. Miami added Amar’e Stoudemire to the roster and also drafted Justise Winslow in the draft to attempt to improve on last season.

The Hawks have never won the Eastern Conference title. Atlanta was 60-22 last season and had the best record in the East, but ultimately lost to the Cavs in the conference finals. Atlanta added Tim Hardaway Jr. to their roster.
