Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Trail Blazers are 13.5-point favorites to beat the Cavs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 218 points and as of this writing, 72% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Trail Blazers to cover the point spread.

Cleveland Cavs Fantasy Spin

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com said the Cavaliers have received calls for Kevin Love. Before his fantasy owners get their hopes up, Fedor didn’t sound optimistic that a deal would happen. “As I’ve written numerous times, it will take close to the perfect deal for the Cavs to pull the trigger,” Fedor said. There aren’t any rival teams mentioned in the report, but between Love’s massive contract, Cleveland’s desire to hold onto him and questions about his health, things aren’t looking great for his rest-of-season value.

Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin

C.J. McCollum had a night to forget on Monday vs. the Kings, scoring six points on 2-of-14 shooting with six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes. That’s a season-low in points and it’s just the second time he’s been held to single digits — he had an 8-point game vs. the Pelicans on Nov. 1. McCollum’s fantasy value is on pace to decline for the second straight season, and this time it’s because his assists are down by nearly one per game and he hasn’t been as prolific in steals and triples. He’s still sitting inside the top-80, but Portland’s decision to move him off the ball more often hasn’t helped.

NBA Betting Trends

The Cavs are 0-5 against the spread in their last five trips to Portland and have failed to cover the spread in five of their last seven games overall.

The Trail Blazers are 34-16-1 against the number in their last 51 home games and are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against Eastern Conference opponents.

Prediction

The under is a perfect 8-0 in the last eight meetings between these two teams in Portland and is 5-2 in their last seven games coming off two days of rest. On the other side, the under is 8-3-1 in the Blazers’ last 12 games overall, is 10-4-1 in their last 15 games playing on one day of rest and has cashed in three of their last five home games with one push.
