Clippers vs. Knicks Prediction
Will the struggling Los Angeles Clippers fall once again when they visit the New York Knicks tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET? The Clippers are currently a small underdog on the road.
The Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Knicks are 1-point home favorites versus the Clippers, who opened as a 1.5-point underdog when the number first hit the board. As for the total, the number opened at 211 but has been bet down to 209.5 at the majority of sportsbooks.
Public Betting: As of Monday morning, 56% of tickets for tonight’s game are on the Knicks to cover the spread.
Injury Report: The Clippers remain banged-up. Danilo Gallinari is out with a hip injury and Milos Teodosic is doubtful due to a foot injury. That said, Patrick Beverley is probable despite dealing with a knee injury.
On the other side, Tim Hardaway Jr. is questionable with a foot injury while Ron Baker is 50-50 to play due to a shoulder ailment. Finally, Joakim Noah was benched and is questionable to play tonight.
OUR PREDICTION: I can’t back the Clippers right now given their struggles. They’re 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, are 1-7 against the number in their last eight games overall, and are 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven games coming off a loss. They’re also 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. They’ve been horrible.
The Knicks, meanwhile, have been great. They’re 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 games overall, are 6-0 against the spread in their last six home games, and are 6-0 at the betting window in their last six games played on Monday.
