Los Angeles Clippers DFS Spin
Clippers small forward Norman Powell will sit out Thursday’s game against the Suns for rest purposes. Powell is third on the team in scoring with 17 points per game and he’s shooting 41.7% from three on 4.8 attempts per game this season.
For a value play at shooting guard, consider L.A.’s Terance Mann. The 6’5” Florida State alum has been on a hot streak in his last 5 games. In that span, Mann has scored at least 10 points and shot at least 55% from the field in each contest. The Clippers released and traded a few guards at the trading deadline and those moves could open up some offensive opportunities for Terance Mann on Thursday and beyond.
Phoenix Suns DFS Spin
The Suns may have traded for Kevin Durant, but he likely won’t see the floor until the end of the month. Durant hasn’t played since January 8th due to an MCL sprain in his right knee and Phoenix likely doesn’t want to rush him back too soon. Suns guards Landry Shamet and Cameron Payne will be out for extended periods as well.
You may be able to get Chris Paul for a reasonable price in DFS Thursday. The 37-year-old point guard is still putting up valuable numbers in his 17th season: 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 9 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.6 made three-pointers per game. With the Suns shorthanded at guard, Chris Paul could have a big day against his former team Thursday.
Clippers vs. Suns NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games against a team with a home winning percentage over .600.
Los Angeles is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Phoenix.
Phoenix is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games.
Phoenix is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Clippers vs. Suns NBA Prediction
The Suns are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning road record. Phoenix is also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 2 days’ rest. The Suns also seem to score points in bunches as they are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Suns are a great home team this season as they are 20-9 straight up at the Footprint Center and are one of only 8 NBA teams that have won 69% or more of their home games this season. I think the absence of Norman Powell looms large for the Clippers and they struggle against a solid Phoenix team on the road. I’ll take the Suns at home.
