Doncic ties career-high
Dallas earned a 120-113 victory Friday night at Phoenix to improve to 12-6 overall and 6-2 on the road. The Mavericks outscored the Suns 31-24 in the fourth quarter to claim the win. Luka Doncic paced Dallas as he tied his career-high with 42 points on 12-of-24 shooting including 3-of-11 from 3-point distance plus 15-of-18 at the free throw line. He also registered 11 assists and nine rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. tallied 26 points, three boards and two steals. Seth Curry added 11 points and two dimes off the bench.
Lakers race past Wizards
Los Angeles claimed a 125-103 home victory Friday night over Washington to improve to 17-2 overall and 9-1 at home. The Lakers led 70-49 at halftime en route to the win. Anthony Davis paced LA with 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point distance plus 9-of-12 at the charity stripe. He also registered 13 rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists. LeBron James accounted for 23 points, 11 assists, three boards and two steals. NBA Betting Trends
Dallas
The Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. Dallas is 13-3-1 ATS in its last 17 road games.
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Sunday games. Los Angeles is 1-5 ATS in its last six games versus the Western Conference.
Prediction:
While the Mavs were bottled up at home last week by the Clippers, I think they match up better with the Lakers as there is no one in the backcourt to bottle up Doncic the way Paul George and Kawhi Leonard could. The interior defense of LA is stout, but with Dallas so perimeter-oriented I think it can hang right in there and make it a game that goes down to the wire. I’ll gladly take the points here.
