Nuggets struggling on the road
Denver is coming off a 108-95 loss at Boston on Friday night for a third loss in four games, two of which have come on the road. Denver is 14-6 on the season, 6-3 on the road, 9-10-1 against the spread and 14-6 with the under.
The Nuggets have been led by their defense this year, allowing just 101.8 points per game while holding opponents to 43.4 percent shooting from the field and 30.9 percent from the arc. Denver is averaging 106.7 points per game on offense. The Nuggets are shooting 44.9 percent as a team. Jamal Murray has been leading the team with 18.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Nikola Jokic is adding 15.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per contest.
Nets winning without stars
The Brooklyn Nets continue to win games without Kyrie Irving and Caris LeVert in the lineup due to injury. They have won their last two and three of their last four while covering the spread in four straight. Brooklyn is 12-10 on the season, 6-4 at home, 12-10 against the spread and 11-10-1 with the under.
Brooklyn has struggled defensively, allowing 113.4 points per game while opponents shoot 44.5 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from the arc. Offensively, the Nets are putting up 113 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the floor. Spencer Dinwiddie is leading the current active roster with 20.5 points and 6.1 assists per game while Jarrett Allen is averaging 12 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games playing on 1 day of rest, but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record.
Brooklyn
The Nets are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games on 1 day of rest and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games.
Prediction:
These two met on Nov. 14 with Denver picking up a 101-93 victory as a 7.5-point favorite. However, Brooklyn had covered in three straight prior to that. The Nuggets haven’t been a terribly reliable road team, especially out East. They are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record. The 3PM ET tip is Noon out West. That can be tough for a team to get going that early into the day. I think the Nets are the play, getting points at home. They have covered in four straight, including against Boston and Miami at home. I don’t think the Nuggets are playing better than those two team right now.
