Nuggets drop two straight on the road
Denver is in the midst of an East Coast road trip. The Nuggets won the opener at New York, but they have lost to the Celtics and the Nets the last two games. The Nuggets are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five as well. Denver is 14-7 on the season, 6-4 on the road, 9-11-1 against the spread and 15-6 with the under.
Denver has been led this season by its defense, allowing just 101.9 points per game while limiting opponents to just 30.7 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Denver is averaging 106.5 points per game while shooting 44.7 percent as a squad. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 16.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. Jamal Murray is adding 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest.
Philly still unbeaten at home
The 76ers are coming off a 110-104 win at home over Toronto on Sunday. They have won all of their home games this year and covered in the last three at home. Philadelphia is 17-7 on the season, 12-0 at home, 11-12-1 against the spread and 13-10-1 with the under.
Philadelphia is putting up 110.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor. Defensively, the 76ers are giving up 104 points per game while limiting opponents to 45.4 percent shooting. Joel Embiid is putting up 21.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game to lead the team. Tobia Harris is adding 19.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning record.
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Denver won the first meeting with Philly at home this year, 100-97. However, the 76ers have covered the spread in five of their last six against the Nuggets. I like Philly to cover tonight as well. The Nuggets are on a long road trip and have not looked good against anyone not named the Knicks. They looked outmatched and Boston and will look outmatched at Philly. The 76ers have been able to lock up their last three opponents at home while finding enough offense to cover. I think their depth and length will be a problem for the Nuggets. Embiid should keep Jokic from being able to take over the game.
NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -4.5
