Nuggets rally for Game-2 win
Denver looked like it may fall behind 2-0 in the series, but the Nuggets rallied in the fourth quarter to pick up a 114-105 win at home on Tuesday night. The Nuggets are now 55-29 on the season, 20-21 on the road, 43-41 against the spread and 48-35-1 with the under.
The Nuggets put up 39 points in the fourth quarter to get the win on Tuesday. They finished Game 2 43 of 89 shooting while going 10 of 24 from the arc. They committed just five turnovers for the game, which was really impressive. Nikola Jokic had 21 points with 13 rebounds and eight assists to lead the way in the win while Jamal Murray had 24 points, Gary Harris had 23 and Paul Millsap had 20 points.
Spurs end win streak
San Antonio had its 4-game win streak come to an end on Tuesday in the Game-2 loss. They still return home with a 1-1 series. The Spurs are now 49-35 on the season, 32-9 at home, 44-38-2 against the spread and 44-39-1 with the over.
The Spurs shot 39 of 86 from the field in the Game-2 loss, which isn’t bad, but they were just 5 of 18 from the arc, which is noticeably worse than their usual league-best shooting from the arc. They also didn’t get much bench scoring, posting just 23 points. LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points with eight rebounds in the loss while DeMar DeRozan had 31 points with seven rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are just 1-8 against the spread in their last nine conference quarterfinal games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games on 1 day of rest.
San Antonio
The Spurs are 0-5 ATS in their last five home games and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a loss.
Prediction:
The Spurs had one bad quarter keep them from a 2-0 lead. Still, they have looked like the better team throughout the series thus far, with both of the games coming in Denver. The Nuggets have not been a good road team this season, going just 17-24 against the spread. San Antonio has the opposite record ATS at home. The Nuggets aren’t likely to just have five turnovers in a game on the road, so I like the Spurs to pull out another win and cover.
NBA Prediction: San Antonio Spurs -4
