The Nuggets had really solid offensive numbers in Game 3, they just couldn’t make stops. Denver shot 42 of 81 from the field and an impressive 15 of 29 from the arc in the loss. Spurs ruling the series
San Antonio has really dominated most of this series, as a fourth-quarter letdown is all that is keeping them from a 3-0 lead. The Spurs are now 50-35 on the season, 33-9 at home, 45-38-2 against the spread and 45-39-1 with the over.
The Spurs got to the line 32 times in Game 3, which proved to be the key in the win. Guard Derrick White had a breakout performance as he scored 36 points on 15 of 21 shooting and also dished out five assists and had three steals. DeMar DeRozan was solid as well, scoring 25 points with five assists while LaMarcus Aldridge put up 18 points and 11 rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are just 1-9 against the spread in their last nine conference quarterfinal games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.
San Antonio
The Spurs are 4-1 against the spread in their last five conference quarterfinal games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine against a team with a winning record.
Prediction:
This whole series has been about the Spurs and I think we are seeing the difference in coaches thus far. Gregg Popovich is running a clinic and I think that will continue tonight. San Antonio has been one of the best teams in the NBA on its home floor while Denver has a losing record on the road. It showed in Game 3 with the Spurs starting quick and controlling the lead for the whole game. Denver hasn’t proven it can win big games on the road consistently and it hasn’t proven it has what it takes to beat this San Antonio team consistently in this series.
NBA Prediction: San Antonio Spurs -3.5
