Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Mavericks are 5-point favorites to beat the Pistons. The total, meanwhile, sits at 208.5 points and as of this writing, 66% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Mavericks to cover the point spread.
Detroit Pistons Fantasy Spin
Andre Drummond (concussion) is listed as probable for Friday against the Dallas. He was on track to play on Wednesday, but he said he didn’t feel right after shootaround to keep him out. Drummond cleared the concussion protocol on Thursday, so he is almost certainly going to be announced as a go even before warmups. His return will move Zaza Pachulia out of the starting lineup.
Dallas Mavericks Fantasy Spin
Luka Doncic hit 5-of-15 shots and missed all eight of his 3-pointers on Tuesday, but still had 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block in a 106-98 win over the Clippers. Doncic was hounded by Avery Bradley’s solid defense all night and took his frustration out on his jersey on the way to the locker room at half time, ripping it from the neck down through his chest. But he was back with a new shirt for the second half and still put up a fine fantasy line, excluding the poor shooting. Doncic triple-doubled in his previous game and tonight was just his sixth game of the season without a 3-pointer. He came into this one averaging 21.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals, 2.6 3-pointers and just 2.3 turnovers for the month of January, and you can go ahead and pencil him in for the Rookie of the Year Award. And if you want to write it in Sharpie instead of pencil lead, it’s probably safe to do so.
