Gasol questionable to face Spurs
MEMPHIS, TN (TheSpread) – The Memphis Grizzlies will host the defending champs, the San Antonio Spurs, tonight at 8PM ET, but could be doing so without Marc Gasol.
The Grizzlies’ center is dealing with a bone bruise on his knee that has him listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Gasol is averaging 19.4 points, 8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game to lead the Grizzlies this season. Memphis is tied for the NBA lead with 15 wins this year, as they are 15-3 overall, 8-0 at home and 8-10 against the spread. San Antonio is 13-5 on the season, 7-4 on the road and 8-10 against the spread.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, odds for this game have yet to be established due to the injury questions to Gasol. The Spurs have won eight straight meetings with the Grizzlies and covered the spread in eight of their last 10 against Memphis.
Memphis is coming off a loss at Houston, which snapped a five-game winning streak for the team. The Grizzlies are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight and have been favored in eight of their last 10 games. The Spurs are also coming off a loss, as they fell 95-93 in OT to Brooklyn on the road. That loss snapped an eight-game win streak. Despite the recent surge, the Spurs are just 1-4 against the spread in their last 5.
