Warriors’ Curry active for Game 4 against Rockets
The man, the myth, the legend is finally ready to resume his scary-good scoring ways.
For the first time in more than a week, Stephen Curry will suit up for Golden State this afternoon. The reigning NBA MVP’s squad enters Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals as a 9.5-point road favorite. Host Houston, meanwhile, represents a +360 underdog.
Whatever momentum the Rockets gained from their 97-96 win three nights ago could be squelched in a hurry today. That’s because Curry’s sprained right ankle has responded positively to treatment over the past 48 hours. Steve Kerr actually needs the league’s leading scorer to ignite an offense that frequently faltered in Game 3, as reserve forward Marreese Speights was the lone Warrior to eclipse 20 points.
Houston experienced its own trouble from the floor, shooting 39.1 percent. James Harden exploded for 35 points, though, and Dwight Howard notched a vital double-double. In fact, the center’s 69 such playoff feats trail only Tim Duncan (75) and LeBron James (71) among current ballers.

For Golden State, the prescription for grabbing a 3-1 series edge seems pretty straightforward: surpass the century mark. The Warriors are now 3-5 over the last two postseasons when registering fewer than 100 points, as opposed to 15-1 when reaching or going above that number. Curry’s return all but guarantees greater efficiency, and Draymond Green’s not about to suffer through another seven-turnover performance. Just bank on Kerr’s crew to have a closeout opportunity come Wednesday.
