Warriors fall at home again
The Warriors lost for the second time at home in this series, falling to the Clippers 129-121 on Wednesday night. Golden State is now 2-3 against the spread in the series despite a 3-2 lead. The Warriors are 60-27 on the season, 29-14 on the road, 37-49-1 against the spread and 46-41 with the under.
Golden State was trailing for most of the game on Wednesday, unable to get themselves on track defensively. The Warriors shot 43 of 96 from the field and hit 15 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough at home. Kevin Durant continued to play well, putting up 45 points with six rebounds and six assists. Stephen Curry added 24 points with four assists while Klay Thompson had 22 points.
Clippers score another upset
Los Angeles picked up another big upset win on Wednesday. The Clippers have covered the spread in three of the last four games in the series. Los Angeles is now 50-37 on the season, 26-17 at home, 48-38-1 against the spread and 48-38-1 with the over.
The Clippers shot very well in Game 5, going 46 of 85 from the field while knocking down 13 3-pointers. Their bench continued to shine, as Lou Williams put up 33 points and 10 assists while Montrezl Harrell had 24 points and five rebounds. Starters Danilo Gallinari and Patrick Beverley also shined. Gallinari had 26 points with seven rebounds while Beverley had 17 points and 14 boards.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The Warriors are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games following a loss, but just 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Los Angeles
The Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five following a win.
Prediction:
The Warriors had another embarrassing loss on Wednesday. They continue to play down to their competition at times, which was an issue during the regular season. However, the loss from Game 2 put the team on track in Game 3 and I think the same could happen tonight. Golden State earned a dominant win in Game 3 on the road. When on their game, the Warriors are far superior to Los Angeles. They just have to care enough to play good defense and get good looks on offense. Following a loss, I think they will care enough tonight.
NBA Prediction: Golden State Warriors -10
