Memphis Grizzlies DFS Spin
Memphis is going to be extremely shorthanded against L.A. on Sunday. Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and small forward Dillon Brooks will both be suspended for Sunday’s game. Morant had an off-court incident, and Brooks got too many technical fouls. Memphis power forward Brandon Clarke suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Friday and will miss the rest of the season. Grizzlies center Steven Adams suffered a PCL injury in his knee in January and isn’t expected back until early April.
If you want to target a Memphis player in DFS Sunday consider Grizzlies shooting guard Desmond Bane. Bane is averaging 21.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 3 made three-pointers per game for Memphis this year. He should get several additional shot attempts due to the absence of Morant, Brooks, and Clarke Sunday.
Los Angeles Clippers DFS Spin
Clippers small forward Norman Powell won’t play Sunday against the Grizzlies. He’s dealing with a left shoulder subluxation and should be back in mid-March. Los Angeles center Ivica Zubac has missed the Clippers’ past two games with a calf strain, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s tilt with Memphis.
If you’re looking for a player who’s going to play hard and accumulate counting stats for DFS, Russell Westbrook fits the bill on both accounts. Since joining the Clippers in February, Westbrook has posted three double-doubles (points and assists) in five games. He may rack up some points, rebounds, and assists against an undermanned Grizzlies squad Sunday night.
Grizzlies vs. Clippers NBA Betting Trends
Memphis is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games.
Memphis is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
The under is 14-3-1 in Memphis’ last 18 games overall.
The under is 17-5 in Los Angeles’ last 22 Sunday games.
Grizzlies vs. Clippers NBA Prediction
I’m not sure how Memphis is going to be able to score enough points to keep this game within reach. They will be missing 3 of their top 5 scorers on Sunday. Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, and Brandon Clarke have combined to average 51.5 points per game for the Grizzlies this season. Memphis will be hard-pressed to replace those numbers. Memphis was ranked 21st in the league in offensive efficiency with all their star players, I can’t imagine how much they’ll struggle to score without them.
For the Clippers if both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both play (and it’s looking like they will) Los Angeles should be able to put the clamps on the Memphis backups who will be forced into starting roles Sunday. I do like the under of 228, but I’ll ultimately lay the points with the Clippers at home on Sunday.
