Memphis Grizzlies DFS Spin
The Grizzlies will be without big men Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke for Sunday’s clash with the Hawks. Adams is still working his way back from a right knee injury and Clarke tore his left Achilles and will miss the rest of the season. Memphis star point guard Ja Morant has rejoined the team after serving a suspension for an off-court incident earlier this month. He’s still ramping back up so there’s some considerable risk there if you elect to use him in DFS this weekend.
The Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. has really blossomed over the past few weeks. The 6’11” power forward is averaging 22.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 1.5 made three-pointers per game in 13 contests this month. He’d be a nice option in DFS due to his solid 50/33/78 shooting splits on field goals, three-pointers, and free throws this season.
Atlanta Hawks DFS Spin
Atlanta small forward Deandre Hunter missed the Hawks’ last game with a left knee contusion, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s tilt with the Grizzlies. Hunter is third on the Hawks in scoring with 15.5 points per game this season.
Hawks point guard Trae Young was ejected from their Friday night game against the Pacers for throwing the ball at an official. It was his 15th technical foul of the season and leaves him one away from an automatic suspension. Young is Atlanta’s best player and is putting up 26.8 points and 10 assists per game for the Hawks this season. You could use him in DFS, but it might be better to opt for Hawks guard Dejounte Murray (20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1.5 steals per game) instead on Sunday.
Grizzlies vs. Hawks NBA Betting Trends
Atlanta is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days’ rest.
Atlanta is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Sunday games.
Atlanta is 13-23 ATS after a win this season.
Memphis is 15-10-1 ATS in non-conference games this season.
Grizzlies vs. Hawks NBA Prediction
Memphis is one of the best teams in the NBA this year. The Grizzlies have won 8 of their last 9 games and they’re fifth in the league with an average scoring margin of +4.4 this season.
Atlanta on the other hand has been within one game of .500 for the last 10 weeks. The Hawks have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. If the pattern holds, they will lose this game outright at home to Memphis on Sunday. When you add in the fact that Deandre Hunter might not even play for Atlanta, it makes the case for Memphis that much more convincing. I’ll lay the points with the Grizzlies on the road in Atlanta on Sunday.
