Unfortunately, he is doubtful for Saturday night’s game in Utah, so Memphis will have to look elsewhere for their scoring punch.
The player most likely to step up for the Grizzlies is shooting guard Desmond Bane. Bane poured in 31 points in Memphis’s 125-110 road win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. He’s the Grizzlies’ second-leading scorer at 22.6 points per game and leads the team with 4.4 made three-pointers per game. Bane’s been hot from deep in the early going, shooting 46.8% from beyond the arc in 2022. He should see his share of scoring chances with Ja Morant likely sitting out on Saturday.

Utah CEO of basketball operations Danny Ainge traded the franchise’s two best players during the offseason, and everyone expected a complete teardown and rebuild. Lauri Markkanen has been efficient from the field and the line as he’s hitting 49% of his field goal attempts and 81.8% of his free throws. Markkanen is a true stretch four who would be a cost-effective addition to any DFS lineup.

I think Utah keeps it close enough to cover or wins this game outright as the schedule catches up with Memphis.
