Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant triple-doubled in Thursday’s comeback Game 3 win over the Timberwolves with 16 points (5-of-18 FG, 5-of-10 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, three blocks and seven turnovers in 41 minutes. Minnesota did an excellent job of taking Morant out of this game, constantly trapping him and forcing the ball out of his hands, which had him rushing things whenever he did have a semi-clean look at the hoop. Memphis’ other star, Jaren Jackson Jr., took himself out of the game by racking up five fouls in his first 16 minutes and he finished with six points, seven rebounds, one 3-pointer, two steals, two blocks and one turnover in 21 minutes. Still, Memphis was able to grind out the win, and they’ve now taken back home court advantage in this First Round series.
Minnesota Timberwolves DFS Notes
Karl-Anthony Towns was held to just eight points on 3-of-4 shooting (2-of-2 FT) in Thursday’s Game 3 loss to the Grizzlies, adding five rebounds, one assist, five blocks and four turnovers in 33 minutes. KAT was overly passive in this game, attempting a total of just four shots, and that cannot happen if the Timberwolves hope to have any chance of pulling off an upset in this series. The Timberwolves blew a 16-point lead during the fourth quarter, and Towns was pretty much invisible down the stretch. At least he showed up on the defensive end, as he set a new playoff career-high with the swats, but Minnesota will need a more well-rounded effort from their franchise pillar in Game 4 if they want to even up this series.
