Hawks vs. Celtics Prediction

After knocking off the Nuggets last night, the Celtics will look to make it two in a row both on the court and at the betting window on Wednesday night when they host the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. ET. Is Boston a smart bet to cash again tonight as a home favorite?

Trae Young hit 6-of-19 shots, 1-of-4 3-pointers and 10-of-12 free throws for 23 points, three rebounds, eight assists and a steal in Monday’s loss to the Knicks. The Hawks are reeling right now, losers of four straight and are just 1-7 in February. John Collins and Clint Capela combined to hit 15-of-25 shots to salvage the Hawks shooting percentage tonight, but Young, Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish combined to hit just 12-of-43 shots in a game the Hawks should have been able to win. Collins hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 points, and Capela had 15 points, 18 boards, a steal and two blocks in the loss.

Shooting 6-of-18 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line in Tuesday’s win over the Nuggets, Jayson Tatum posted a line of 21 points, six rebounds, eight assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes. Tatum has struggled to get back into a rhythm since returning from COVID-19, and before the game he noted that it has been difficult with regard to his conditioning. “I think it messes with your breathing a little bit,” Tatum said. “I have experienced some games where, I don’t want to say [I was] struggling to breathe, but, you know, you get fatigued a lot quicker than normal.” During the first and third quarters Tuesday night, Tatum was the first starter subbed out by coach Brad Stevens. He will still get into the 30s in minutes, but the Celtics are making a more concerted effort to keep an eye on their star forward due to the conditioning issues.

Celtics vs. Warriors Betting Prediction

The Hawks are 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Celtics but have cashed just three times in the last 10 instances that they were an underdog. They’re also just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall and are 1-5 at the betting window in their last six games following a loss. On the other side, the Celtics have covered in four of their last five home games and are 7-2 at the betting window in their last nine games when playing on zero rest.

NBA BETTING PREDICTION: BOSTON CELTICS -3
