Miami Heat DFS Notes
Jimmy Butler scored 26 points to go along with 11 assists, eight rebounds, and two steals to propel Miami to a win over Boston on Sunday. Sunday’s game was of the utmost importance to avoid the play-in round of the NBA postseason. The Heat entered Sunday with a one-game lead on the Celtics for the 6th spot in the East. With game two of this brief two-game set with Boston looming on Tuesday, Sunday’s win now gives Miami a two-game cushion over Boston. Butler flipped the switch in the second half from facilitator to scorer, as the Heat fought off a ferocious Celtics comeback. Sunday’s win takes a ton of pressure off of the Heat to win Tuesday’s game, but with just a two-game lead, and still games remaining against Philly and Milwaukee, a win Tuesday is still super important for Butler and the Heat.
Boston Celtics DFS Notes
Jaylen Brown has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his left wrist and he will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season. What a brutal blow for both the Celtics and Jaylen himself, who was having an absolute breakout season. Evan Fournier should continue to start and ball out the rest of the way, while Kemba Walker and Jaysen Tatum will see an uptick in usage and Aaron Nesmith will continue to see increased opportunity with the second unit. Unfortunately, Brown is safe to send to the waiver wire in all re-draft formats.
Heat vs. Celtics Game Prediction
The Heat have covered in eight of their last 10 games in Boston, are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games overall and are 4-1 against the number in their last five road games. On the other side, the Celtics have covered just once in their last five games overall and just once in their last five home games.
NBA PREDICTION: MIAMI HEAT -1.5
