Adebayo finishes one rebound shy of double-double
Bam Adebayo had 21 points (7-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. Adebayo put up at least 20 points in his second straight game Wednesday. The 27-year-old center still played 38 minutes despite the Heat losing to the Cavaliers by 20 points. Bam was just one rebound away from a double-double after six straight games with at least 10 rebounds. He hasn’t had the season he or fantasy mangers hoped for, but he’s picked up his play in the last two games.
Wembanyama finishes January with 11 double-doubles
Victor Wembanyama had 30 points (9-of-20 FGs), 14 rebounds, one assist, six blocks and five 3-pointers in the Spurs’ 144-118 victory over the Bucks on Friday. After Wembanyama was named to the All-Star team as a reserve Thursday, he finished January with 11 double-doubles in 12 games. With six blocks Friday, he also had eight games with at least five combined steals and blocks in January. The 21-year-old power forward has at the same time lived up to the hype and is only beginning to scratch the surface of his full potential.
Heat vs. Spurs NBA Prediction:
Take Miami. The Heat are 8-2 in their last 10 games against the Spurs, winning four straight in this series. They’re also 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with San Antonio, covering the last four lines in this series. Both teams enter play in poor form, as the Heat are just 4-6 straight up and 4-6 ATS over their last 10 games. That said, the Spurs are a putrid 3-7 straight up and 3-7 at the window. The win last night over the Bucks was impressive, but this San Antonio team has mostly been fade material.
Heat vs. Spurs Betting Prediction: MIAMI HEAT +2
