Charlotte Hornets DFS Spin
LaMelo Ball is doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Hawks due to a sprained left ankle and a sore left wrist. Ball exited Wednesday’s game against the Rockets during the third quarter after spraining his ankle, and he also injured his wrist that night. He did participate in the non-contact portions of Friday’s practice, but the team will continue to evaluate Ball and provide updates when necessary. Fantasy managers should plan for Ball to be sidelined, with Dennis Smith Jr. being the player to add. This is the third time this season that Ball has dealt with a sprained left ankle, missing 13 and 11 games in the prior two instances.
Atlanta Hawks DFS Spin
Trae Young shot 9-of-21 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line in Friday’s 139-124 win over the Knicks, tallying 27 points, one rebound, six assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes. Young got off to a slow start, one of the few players on the floor not to come out hot during the first half. But he shot 5-of-9 from the field in the third quarter, scoring 13 points as the Hawks turned a three-point halftime deficit into a one-point lead at the end of the period. Young and the Hawks would pull away from there, picking up a valuable win to move closer to the Knicks in the standings. Young has been very good recently, providing top-20 per-game value in 9-cat formats over the last two weeks. Since he’s been dealing with a sprained left ankle, fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility of Young not playing Saturday against the Hornets. Consider him questionable for that one.
