This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Rockets stunned by Pelicans

The Houston Rockets saw a three-game win streak come to an end on Tuesday in a 121-116 loss at home to a short-handed New Orleans team. The Rockets are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games. Houston is now 29-21 overall, 10-13 on the road, 23-26-1 against the spread and 28-22 with the over.

Houston is putting up 112.3 points per game on offense this season despite shooting just 44.4 percent from the field. Defensively, the Rockets are giving up 110.9 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.5 percent. The team has struggled since the loss of Clint Capela with his thumb injury but Chris Paul recently returned to the lineup. Paul is averaging 15.3 points and 8 assists per game. James Harden has been leading the team with 36.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists per contest.

Nuggets rolling

Denver is coming off a 105-99 win at New Orleans on Wednesday and the Nuggets have won four straight and six of their last seven. The Nuggets are now 35-15 on the season, 22-4 at home, 27-23 against the spread and 25-24-1 with the under.

The Nuggets are one of the stronger defensive teams in the league, allowing just 105.8 points per game. Offensively, Denver is putting up 111.5 points per game while shooting 47 percent as a team. Jamal Murray continues to be out with an ankle injury while Gary Harris is questionable with a groin injury. Those two combine for over 33 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game. Nikola Jokic is leading the team this season with 20.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets have failed to cover the spread in four straight road games and in five of their last six after scoring more than 100 points in their previous game.

Denver

The Nuggets have covered the spread in four straight at home and in seven of their last 10 Friday games.

Prediction:

The Rockets haven’t looked great with Paul returning, which is surprising because they were really rolling for a time while he was out. Now they go on the road, where they are 8-15 against the spread, to face a Denver team that is 18-8 ATS at home. The Nuggets aren’t healthy, but they haven’t really been at full strength nearly all season. Yet, they still manage to perform at home. They have won their last four at home by at least 16 points and I think they will cover this spread tonight against a Houston team in a funk.

NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -4.5
