Warriors profitable as double-digit fave
How have the Warriors fared against the spread as a double-digit favorite this season? Better than you might think.
Golden State has been a double-digit favorite 21 times this season and has covered the spread in 13 of those matchups. The Warriors were a 17.5-point home favorite versus the Mavericks in their most recent game and blew Dallas out by 20 in a 127-107 romp. They also covered as a 17.5-point road favorite versus the Lakers on January 14, beating L.A. 116-98.
Why is this relevant? Because according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Warriors are a whopping 17.5-point road favorite versus the 76ers at 5:00PM ET on Saturday evening. They’re 28-17 against the spread this season and 16-7 ATS on the road, while the Sixers are 21-25 at the betting window overall and just 8-12 ATS at home.
It has been remarkable what Golden State has been able against the spread this season despite having to overcome inflated point spreads nearly every night. The Warriors have covered in 62.2% of their games this season, which is the second-best ATS mark in the league behind the Spurs (67.4%). And whether they’re a slight road favorite or a double-digit fave, the Warriors just keeping covering.
