Sabonis Dominates Paint vs. Memphis
Domantas Sabonis dominated the paint on Monday and finished with 20 points (10-of-11 FGs), 26 rebounds and five assists in a 103-94 win over Memphis. Sabonis set his previous career-high of 25 rebounds in November of 2021 as an Indiana Pacer. He broke that mark on Monday while also recording the ninth 20/20 game of his career.
Sabonis is one of the most dominant rebounders in the league, and he took advantage of a depleted Memphis frontcourt. His dominance on the glass helped them outrebound the Grizzlies 51-37. Sabonis is having what is arguably the best season if his career, and he is averaging career-highs in rebounds, assists and field goal percentage. He won’t be this dominant often, but this was certainly a huge boost for fantasy managers.
Butler Led Miami with 26 Points vs. Suns
Jimmy Butler led Miami with 26 points (7-of-12 FGs, 10-of-10 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers against the Suns on Monday. After three straight games with less than 20 points, Butler has now scored at least 25 in back-to-back games. Unfortunately, since he returned from a two-week absence, the Heat are just 1-7, with the singular win coming in his first game back. That was an overtime win by one point. Of the seven straight losses, only two have been by single digits. Butler has been more productive over their last two games, but they’ll need him to take things up another notch if they want to get back on track against the Kings on Wednesday.
