Los Angeles Lakers DFS Spin
Lakers forward LeBron James is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rockets. He’s dealing with a foot injury. James is L.A.’s leading scorer with 29 points per game this season, and his status could loom large over this game.
Los Angeles power forward Anthony Davis had been dealing with a foot injury, but he’s officially listed as probable for Sunday’s game. Davis is averaging 26.3 points and 12.4 rebounds per game this season.
Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell might be a nice under-the-radar DFS play this weekend. Since joining Los Angeles via trade, Russell is putting up 18 points, 6.5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. He’s shooting an efficient 39.3% from deep since the trade so his shooting should offer some additional value on Sunday.
Houston Rockets DFS Spin
Houston small forward Jae’Sean Tate will miss the Rockets’ game against the Lakers on Sunday as he’s nursing a knee injury. Tate is averaging 9.1 points per game in 21.8 minutes per contest for Houston this season.
Rockets shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr. is doing a little bit of everything this year. The USC alum is averaging 19 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.3 made three-pointers per game for the Rockets this season. He recorded 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in Houston’s 114-110 home win over the Lakers on March 15th and he may be in for a similar stat line on Sunday.
Lakers vs. Rockets NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Los Angeles is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against Houston.
Houston is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Houston is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following an outright win.
Lakers vs. Rockets NBA Prediction
This line is too high. These two teams have played each other twice already, and Houston won the most recent matchup 114-110 at home on March 15th. The Lakers won the first matchup in L.A. by a score of 140-132. The teams might look a bit different on Sunday, but the point is that Houston has kept the games relatively close against the Lakers both times they’ve faced each other this season. LeBron James may play in this game or he may elect to sit out. The Lakers have four more games after this matchup in Houston, and two of those are scheduled to be national TV games, so maybe he aims to return for those contests later in the week. Regardless, it’s rare that the home team is an underdog in a weekend NBA game, and I think there’s a lot of value in taking that side. That’s why I’m taking the Rockets and the points at home on Sunday.
