Clippers struggling on the road
Los Angeles is having a good season, but the Clippers are below .500 on the road this year. They are coming off a 135-119 win at Washington on Sunday. The Clippers are 17-7 on the year, 4-6 on the road, 13-11 against the spread and 14-10 with the under.
The Clippers have been a strong offensive team this season, averaging 115.3 points per game while shooting 45.8 percent as a team. Defensively, the Clippers are giving up 108.7 points per game while holding opponents to 43.2 percent shooting. Kawhi Leonard is leading the Clippers this year with 25.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Paul George is adding 23 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. Given this game is the second in a back-to-back, its possible one or both could be rested tonight.
Pacers return home
The Pacers wrapped up a five-game road trip on Saturday night with a 104-103 win at New York. Indiana went 3-2 in the road trip. The Pacers are 15-8 on the season, 9-2 at home, 12-10-1 against the spread and 12-10-1 with the under.
Indiana has been led this season by its defense. The Pacers are giving up just 104.5 points per game while holding opponents to 44 percent shooting. Offensively, Indiana is averaging just 109.2 points per game, but shoot 47.3 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point land. Malcolm Brogdon has been leading the team with 19 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. However, he is dealing with a hand injury that has him as a game-time decision. Domantas Sabonis is adding 18.4 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Clippers are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine road games, but 20-9 ATS in their last 29 games as a road favorite.
Indiana
The Pacers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five Monday games and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
These two have yet to meet this season, but the Pacers have covered the spread in seven of the last nine against the Clippers. Certainly the injury and rest situation is pretty important for both teams. You will have to keep an eye out for the latest information. I would expect at least one of LA’s big two to rest. Resting both would really hamper them on the road against a good Indiana team. The Pacers are likely to be without their leader in Brogdon. That’s going to hurt the offense a lot, as he is the leading scorer and one of the top assist men in the league, taking a lot of point production away. Los Angeles has the deep bench, so I still think the Clippers can find ways to score. Indiana doesn’t have the offense to win a high-scoring battle, so I will side with the Clippers tonight.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -2.5
