Lakers vs. Suns Prediction
After picking up a rare victory on Tuesday night, the Lakers will look to make it two in a row when they visit the Suns tonight at 10:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Suns are 4.5-point home favorites versus the Lakers while the over/under for tonight’s game is sitting at 210 points. Los Angeles has dropped six of its last 10 games and is 4-6 against the spread during that span, while Phoenix is 4-6 over its last 10 contests as well but 5-5 at the betting window.
Bet Tonight’s Lakers vs. Suns Game
The Lakers finally won a game last night and covered for bettors while beating the Grizzlies 107-100 as a 3-point home underdog. It was L.A.’s first straight up and ATS win in five games since upsetting the Magic 107-98 as a 3.5-point home underdog on March 8.
While they just lost at home to Phoenix 95-90 before beating Memphis, the Lakers have been profitable at the betting window versus bad teams. They’re 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games versus opponents with a winning percentage below .400 and are also 8-3-1 against the spread in their last 12 road games a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400. Simply put, Julius Randle and Co. like to play against opponents that they deem are on their level.

It’s the opposite for the Suns, who have lost five of their last seven home games ATS versus a tam with a road winning percentage of less than .400. They’re also 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall against opponents with a winning percentage below .400. When facing teams with a losing overall record, Phoenix is just 6-23 ATS in its last 29 games.
The Lakers don’t win back-to-back games very often and maybe they won’t accomplish the feat tonight. But when two bad teams play each other, it’s not a bad strategy to take the points.
