According to the latest oddsmakers, the Nets are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -1.5 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 224 points. The public betting currently has 55 percent going on the Grizzlies as the road underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Memphis trying to surge
Memphis is coming off back-to-back wins over the Lakers and Hawks to move closer to the .500 mark. The two wins have both been by over 15 points despite being the underdog in both games. The Grizzlies are 30-31 on the season, 13-17 on the road, 32-28-1 against the spread and 32-29 with the under.
The Grizzlies are putting up 112.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47 percent as a team. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 114.3 points per game while opponents shoot 45.3 percent against them. Memphis remains without Jaren Jackson Jr. due to a knee injury. Jackson is averaging 16.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Ja Morant is putting up 17.6 points and 7.0 assists per game while Jonas Valanciunas is averaging 14.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
Nets edge Boston in OT
Brooklyn had quite a performance last night, overcoming a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Boston in overtime, 129-120. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Brooklyn. The Nets are now 27-33 on the season, 16-13 at home, 29-31 against the spread and 30-29-1 with the over.
The Nets are giving up 111.4 points per game on defense this season while holding opponents to 44.2 percent shooting. Offensively, Brooklyn is putting up 111.0 points per game while the team shoots 44.4 percent. Caris LeVert is coming off a 51-point performance last night in Boston and is now averaging 17.3 points per game. Spencer Dinwiddie is leading the team with 20.8 points and 6.8 assists per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 Wednesday games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a win.
Brooklyn
The Nets are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on no rest.
Prediction:
Memphis won the first meeting with Brooklyn in OT back in October. The Nets had a nice win last night, but it took a lot out of them. They had to put up 51 points in the fourth to force OT and then play the extra session to win before hitting a plane to return to Brooklyn. I don’t think LeVert is going to have much in the tank tonight. The Grizzlies have put on impressive performances in their last two games and Morant looks determined to lead Memphis to the playoffs. I think he can take advantage of this tired Brooklyn squad tonight.
NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +1.5
