Charlotte Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks, 2/6/19 NBA Predictions & Odds Charlotte Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks, 2/6/19 NBA Predictions & Odds

Heat vs. Mavericks Prediction

While taking on some of the better teams in the Western Conference, the Heat have struggled on their recent road trip. Will they snap a three-game losing streak when they visit the Mavericks tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET?

Game Snapshot

513 Miami Heat at 514 Dallas Mavericks

8:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, February 13, 2019

American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

Our NBA Live Odds page pulls spreads and totals from multiple different online sportsbooks so you can compare betting odds to ensure you’re getting the best line.

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Mavericks are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Heat. The total, meanwhile, sits at 209 points and as of this writing, 74% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Mavericks to cover the point spread.

Miami Heat Fantasy Spin

Justise Winslow accounted for 15 points (6-of-16 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, two steals and one three-pointer in 36 minutes Monday vs. Denver. After he filled the stat sheet in Sunday’s two-point loss to the Warriors, Winslow had a difficult time getting going against the Nuggets. Monday’s game was the first this season in which Winslow, who was moved to the point last month, failed to record a single assist. His value after the All-Star break remains to be seen, as Goran Dragic is expected to return to action, but Winslow remains a solid option for the time being.

Dallas Mavericks Fantasy Spin

Luka Doncic hit 7-of-17 shots and 5-of-9 free throws for 21 points in Monday’s 120-104 loss to Houston. He finished two dimes shy of a triple-double with 10 rebounds, eight assists, two triples and five turnovers. There’s no doubt that Doncic is running away with the Rookie of the Year Award, but his FT% and turnovers are holding him back in standard category-leagues. However, for owners punting those two categories, his ranking jumps from No. 85 to No. 37 on a per-game basis. He’s going to be a monster for the next two decades.

NBA Betting Trends

Miami

The Heat failed to cover in five of their previous seven games overall and are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games coming off a loss.

Dallas

The Mavericks are 4-1-1 against the number in their last six home games and are 8-2-1 at the betting window in their last 11 games overall.

Prediction

The Heat have fallen out of the top eight in the Eastern Conference following their 103-87 loss to the Nuggets on Monday night. They turned the ball over 19 times in Denver and if turnovers are an issue for the Heat again tonight then I like the Mavs’ odds of covering. Dallas had won six of its last nine games before running into James Harden and the Rockets on Monday night. But rookie Luka Doncic had 21 points, 10 boards and eight assists for Dallas, which owns a 20-8 record at the American Airlines Center this season. I’ll take the better team playing well at home tonight.

Wednesday NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks -2.5
