Minnesota continues dive
The Minnesota Timberwolves are on an 11-game losing streak right now following a 118-106 loss at the Clippers on Saturday. They have failed to cover the spread in seven straight as well. Minnesota is 15-33 on the season, 9-15 on the road, 17-29-2 against the spread and 26-22 with the over.
The Timberwolves are putting up 111.5 points per game on offense while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Minnesota is allowing 115.4 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. The Timberwolves are led by Karl-Anthony Towns, who is averaging 27 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Andrew Wiggins is adding 22.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest.
Kings look for consistency
Sacramento is coming off a 129-113 loss at home to the Lakers on Saturday. They have split their last six games straight up and against the spread. Sacramento is now 18-31 on the season, 8-15 at home, 23-25-1 against the spread and 26-23 with the over.
The Kings are putting up 107.4 points per game this season while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Kings are allowing 110.7 points per game while opponents shoot 46.8 percent against them. Buddy Hield is leading the team with 20.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. De’Aaron Fox is adding 19.9 points, 7.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Timberwolves are just 8-21-1 against the spread in their last 30 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Sacramento
The Kings are 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games as a favorite and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
These two just met last week with Sacramento getting a 133-129 road win in OT. Minnesota also grabbed an OT road win at Sacramento on the day after Christmas. These two have been evenly matched, but the Timberwolves are an absolute mess right now and not getting many points on the road. Sacramento hasn’t been a great team this year, but the Kings still show some flashes of being competitive. They earned a 21-point win on the road against the Clippers just last week. I can’t trust Minnesota to end this 11-game losing streak on the road and I don’t expect this game to be an OT game like the others. I like the Kings.
NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings -1.5
