Pelicans vs. Knicks Prediction
Will the Knicks cover as a home favorite over the Pelicans when the two teams square off in New York at 7:30PM ET tonight?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Knicks are 4-point home favorites over the Pelicans while the over/under currently sits at 215.5 points. While the point spread hasn’t moved off the original number, the total climbed from 214 up to 215.5 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books.
Anthony Davis scored 36 points in a 117-108 loss to the Celtics on Saturday, adding 15 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes of play. It was Davis’ 17th double-digit scoring first quarter of the season and he’s been a monster on the glass lately, nabbing 17.0 rebounds per game over his last four contests. Langston Galloway added 20 points for the Pelicans in their loss.
Carmelo Anthony, meanwhile, scored 17 points during a 123-109 loss to the Pacers on Saturday. He says that he will keep playing through the pain in his right shoulder, even though he has talked about the injury being “bad.” “I don’t think it’ll get to that point,” Anthony said when asked if he will shut it down for a while. “Think now it’s just a tolerance level, seeing what I can do and what I can’t. I don’t think it’s a situation where just shut it down – maybe a game here, game there.”

OUR PREDICTION: The Pelicans have been a horrible play against the Knicks, going just 5-12 at the betting window in their last 17 meetings overall and just 2-6 against the number in their last right road games versus New York. The home team is also a perfect 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams and the Knicks have been excellent at home, covering in 11 of their last 15 games at MSG. Despite Anthony battling through injury, I like the Knicks to rebound from their loss to the Pacers.
