Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Lakers a 2.5-point favorite in the matchup, while the over-under is currently at 188. According to the latest trends, Los Angeles is 32-33 against the spread this season while Miami is 28-34 ATS. The Lakers are 26-39 ATS on over-unders and the Heat are 34-29 with over-unders.
The latest loss in the Heat’s losing streak is a 105-96 home defeat against Portland on Tuesday. Conversely, Los Angeles has won eight games in a row including a 101-87 victory at Atlanta on Tuesday.
LeBron James has compiled averages of 26.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.1 assists to lead Miami this season. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant averages 25.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game to lead his team. Bryant moved into sixth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list in the win over the Hawks.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks host the New York Knicks at 9:30PM EST in the second half of the TNT doubleheader. The Mavericks are 6-point favorites and the over-under is 215.5. Phoenix is home against Denver at 10:30PM EST. The Suns are a 3.5-point favorite and the over-under is 215.5.
