Monday’s NBA Opening Odds
(The Spread) -There are seven games on Monday’s NBA schedule and it starts with the Orlando Magic, who will be without star Dwight Howard when it hosts the Portland Trail Blazers.
Orlando enters action with a 40-23 record and are 24-10 in home games. The Magic are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Portland has a 35-27 record and is 14-17 on the road. Play begins Monday night at 7:00PM EST.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com are 2.5-point favorites in the contest and the over-under sits at 188.5. According to the latest trends, Portland is 3-1 against the spread versus Orlando over the last three seasons. Three of the five games in this series have gone total over the last three seasons.
Orlando lost at home Friday night by an 89-81 score to Chicago, which ended a four-game winning streak for the Magic. Portland has won two in a row, the last being a 93-69 stomping at home over Charlotte on Saturday.
All-Star snub LaMarcus Aldridge leads the Trail Blazers with a 22.3 scoring average, while Howard (23.1 ppg) will not be be in the lineup due to picking up his 16th technical in Orlando’s last game. Jason Richardson (13.8 ppg) is the Magic’s leading active scorer.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers play at the Charlotte Bobcats at 7:00PM EST. Charlotte is a 1.5-point favorite and the over-under is 189.5. Sacramento hosts Houston at 10:00PM EST. The Kings are 4-point favorite with an over-under of 216.5.
