Heat on a hot streak
The Miami Heat are on a nice streak on the floor and at the betting window. Will they be able to sustain that today when they host the Los Angeles Clippers at 2PM ET on ABC?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Heat are favored at home this afternoon, as Miami is getting odds of -1.5 points against the Clippers. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 196 points.
Miami (29-22) has won and covered the spread in six of its last seven games to push the Heat toward the top half of the Eastern Conference and close within striking distance of the Atlanta Hawks in the Southeast Division. Today, the Heat host the Clippers (33-17), who have won five of their last six games, but are just 2-2 against the spread in their last four.
Miami has done somewhat well when facing the Western Conference, as they are 11-8 against the spread in non-conference games this season. The Heat also have enjoyed welcoming the Clippers to town, as Los Angeles is just 2-5 ATS in its last 7 trips to Miami. The Heat have also fared well when a marginal favorite, as they are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 when a favorite of 5 points or less.
